Tirthan Valley derives its name from the Tirthan river, which meanders its way through it. Jibhi is a two-hour journey from the Aut tunnel on the Delhi-Manali Highway. It lies in Banjar Valley and is located at a distance of about 8-10 km from Banjar. The best time to visit the place is from Mar to June. Spring gives the place it’s own beauty and winter gives you a different feel altogether. The valley is full of beautiful places to visit. Chehni Kothi Shringa Rishi Temple Great Himalayan National Park Jalori Pass Serolskar Lake: Just after the lake, you will see the temple of “Buddhi Naagin”. The temple is devoted to the goddess of Nagin. You can get to know some amazing story behind this Buddhi Naagin Temple from the locals and it is never a bad idea to get to know the place better than interacting with their people. The trek to the top is known as Jalori Top. Raghupur Fort: The trek to Raghupur fort which is 3 kilometers away from Jalori Pass. We start this journey from Shimla and head towards Kharapathar. Kharapathar is situated at an altitude of 8770 ft from sea level. Embraced by beautiful hills, lush green forests and apple orchards, this site fascinates nature lovers as well as adventure seekers. Giri Ganga is the place from where the Giri river originates. It is 7 km away from Kharapathar village. A hike further up from Giri Ganga will take you to the top of Kupar peak. Hatkoti is a popular pilgrimage site in Himachal Pradesh. There are a group of temples located on the banks of river Pabbar, known as Hateshwari Temple. The main temple is the abode of Goddess Durga in Mahisasuramardini Avatar. According to history, these temples date back to the period between the sixth to the ninth century. A fair is held at the temple every year in April. |
